Glenwood is set amid rolling hills on the eastern shore of Lake Minnewaska and has been the county seat of Pope County since 1866.
 
The City of Glenwood, including the Long Beach area, has a population of approximately 3,000 and is located 15 miles south of Interstate 94 on Highway 29 or 120 miles northwest of the Twin Cities, at the junction of Highways 28, 29, 55, and 104.

Economic Development
The community serves as a shopping center in a widely diversified farming area. Glenwood has three community financial institutions: Glenwood State Bank, Eagle Bank, and the Soo Line Credit Union.
 
The Glenwood Development Corporation promotes new business development in the community and many new plants and businesses have located in Glenwood, such as the nationally known businesses of American Solutions for Business, Healthland (formerly known as Dairyland Healthcare Solutions), and Watkins Airport Support Products (WASP).

Campsites
Electrical camping sites are $20 per night
Tent camping sites are $15 per night
 
There are two buildings within the Barsness Park system available for rental for gatherings including reunions, graduations, etc. Both buildings are equipped with restrooms and kitchen facilities. The buildings rent for $100 per day and we ask for a $100 damage deposit which is returned once the building is inspected by a member of the Parks department.
